“The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.” IMDB.
The good – Tom Hanks is back to his best after a couple of duds, (Incredibly loud & incredibly close; Larry Crowne), this man has been so many good films it’s ridiculous, so it’s good to see him at the top of his game again. Also, the narrative grips you and doesn’t let go right until the end.
The bad – Not much, possibly ‘clichéd’ US military scenes.

The verdict – 4.5/5.
