Below is a link to AQA’s A Level Media Studies past paper and mark scheme area (Needs a catchier name I know), now before you thank me, I have not done you any special favours or broken any rules, these are available at any time.
It is worth noting however, before you go reading mark schemes to try and gain an ‘advantage’, remember the following:
- You don’t know what exam i’m giving you for your mock next week (and are you really going to be able to memorise several documents of information?!)
- Even if you manage 1, you won’t be able to do this for the summer exam, so ask yourself ‘Is it really worth it?’
- Cheaters never win.
A2, the 2015 exam will be the first to have a question about Identities and the media, instead of representation.

Whatever I say I am: constructing identity in contemporary media
The new topic area for A2 Media Studies is ‘Identities and the Media’; a subject choice which reflects the importance of cultural identities as a concept in both the form and content of new and traditional media. The study of identity intersects with theories of representation, audience and ideology; not surprisingly as identity is a transdisciplinary concept found in cultural studies, the humanities and social sciences.
